Clay: Techniques, Experiences, Imaginaries
A volume dedicated to the language of clay in Reggio Emilia's municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools, presenting several proposals and experiences, and offering technical information "warmed" by children's way of using this material.
Emerging from this dialogue is the potential of clay for expression but also the physical challenges and "stumbles" it creates, and the strategies adopted to solve the problems. Further, it reveals the fundamental role of adults designing contexts that are capable of prefiguring new and different situations.
The manual speaks with many voices: the voice of clay and of its techniques, the voice of children and that of teachers, the voice of people who participate in ateliers at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre.
