The Wild Robot
When a robot named Roz wakes up alone on a remote, uninhabited island, she must figure out how to survive in an unfamiliar environment. Initially, the island's animals fear her, and her attempts to communicate with them lead to unexpected challenges.
After accidentally becoming the adoptive mother of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill, Roz begins learning about animal behaviour, relationships, and the natural world. Gradually, she earns the trust of the island's inhabitants and discovers a sense of belonging. However, Roz's mysterious origins eventually return to threaten the peaceful life she has built.
Through an engaging combination of adventure, science fiction, and emotional storytelling, Peter Brown explores survival, adaptation, empathy, cooperation, family, and the relationship between technology and nature. The novel encourages readers to consider how living things adapt to their environments and how understanding others can build a community.
